Dr Ramarao Rao

Dr. Rao served different positions at BARC for over a span of 04 decades. Dr. Rao Started his career as Scientific Officer In 1981 to HoD in 2015 and became Associate Director in 2016.

Dr. Rao holds a Ph.D. from Homi Bhabha National Institute (HBNI) specialization in Machine Vibrations and Bachelors (B.E) in Mechanical Engineering from Karnataka.

Dr. Rao is awarded with Homi Bhabha Science and Technology Award and Technical Excellence Award by by DAE (Department of Atomic Energy).

Dr. Rao under his name has a successful Vibration based Technology Transfer to DRDO/ Godrej and BHEL. Dr. Rao also holds a patent titled ‘Method for non-intrusive on-line detection turbine blade condition’.

He is a council member of GTRE for diagnosis of Kaveri Engine. He was invited by German Institute (ISTee/ GRS) for accident analysis of German Railways.

He is also working as a Project Consultant at Viking Analytics, Sweden.
