Mr. Teke founded Mobond in 2010 at the age of 25. The company is best known for its flagship product, m-Indicator, a free public transportation app launched in May 2010. m- Indicator has become immensely popular in Mumbai, with over 15 million unique users. The app provides information on train and bus schedules, fares, and routes, as well as emergency contact numbers. It also shows live train status.
Mr. Teke, holds a Bachelor of Engineering in Information Technology from V.J.T.I. Mumbai and an MBA in Finance from the Jamnalal Bajaj Institute of Management Studies. He has prior experience in the mobile software development industry, having worked with Geodesic Ltd. and Nokia India.
m-Indicator's impact and innovation have earned its widespread recognition, including the prestigious Maxell Maharashtra Corporate Excellence Award in May 2016 and the CNBC Awaaz TECH GURU Award for Best Innovative App in March 2016. The app's commitment to safety is evident in its Woman Security Feature, launched in January 2015, which has been lauded for its role in safeguarding women passengers on Mumbai's local trains.
Additionally, m-Indicator has garnered attention from prominent media outlets, with features in publications such as CNN Money, Times of India, The Hindu, and The Hindu Business Line, further solidifying its position as a pioneering force in the realm of public transportation apps.
Apart from his technical background, he also has a keen interest in farming. In 2020, during the COVID-19 pandemic, he along with his wife Pratiksha developed a 12-acre bamboo farm named Bamboo Vishwa in Dhokshet village, Raigad district. He is also the author of a book on bamboo cultivation. In association with the agricultural department, he hosts bamboo cultivation seminars on his premises.
