Dr Mukesh Kumar Sinha

Dr. Sinha is presently working as a scientist F & Joint Director in the prestigious lab of DRDO- Advanced Systems Laboratory, Hyderabad. He is working on various projects deals with strategic areas of technical textiles composites in defence.

Prior to this he was on deputation from the DRDO as Joint Mission Director (Research and Innovation). He is working on a critical mission-based programme named the National Technical Textile Mission (NTTM) for the development and overall growth of technical textiles in the country. The programme aims to make India self-sufficient and indigenous in technology in various segments of high-tech technical textiles.

He joined the Indian Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) in Kanpur as a scientist D (Dtg. Technical Textiles) and led the division of Textile Materials R & D under the Directorate of Technical Textiles (non-metallic materials) for developing defence protective textiles (DPTs) and technical textile products.

After obtaining a Bachelor of Textile Engineering, Masters of Technology (IITD), and obtained a Ph. D. Degree (Full time) in textile technology from the prestigious Heriot-Watt University (formerly known as the renowned The Scottish College of Textiles) and gained overseas textile industrial experience. He has more than 25 years of industrial and research experience in the field of textiles and fabrics. He has successfully completed various research projects on functional as well as defense-related textiles, e.g., bullet proof jackets, nuclear, biological, and chemical (NBC) suits, high altitude visibility clothing, fire retardant apparel, and so on.
