A visit to waste water treatment at Bhandup plant was organized by Civil & Environmental Engineering department of VJTI Mumbai for their M.Tech students. The purpose of this visit was to study the wastewater treatment processes employed at the Bhandup Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP). The Bhandup WWTP plays a key role in managing wastewater in Mumbai, utilizing a combination of primary, secondary, and tertiary treatment. The focus was on understanding the plant’s operational framework, treatment stages, capacity, and compliance with environmental standards.
