Student Support System

The Counselling Section at VJTI offers structured psychological services for student support through both offline and online modes. A full-time, in-house counsellor is appointed to provide regular face-to-face sessions for students seeking emotional, academic, or personal guidance. Common concerns addressed in offline sessions include anxiety, academic pressure, low self-esteem, interpersonal challenges, emotional regulation difficulties, and long-standing mood disturbances.

The institute has also partnered with YourDOST, an established online mental health platform, to ensure accessible and confidential psychological support to all students beyond working hours. Students can connect with licensed professionals via chat or video calls through YourDOST. The platform also facilitates webinars on topics such as maintaining academic and emotional balance, cognitive wellness strategies (e.g., Brain Gym), and handling college-related stress.

The section operates through an integrated framework that combines individualized counselling, digital support, proactive outreach, and institutional consultation. The dual mode of offline and online services has expanded the accessibility and reach of mental health resources significantly.
